Daily Site Reports Explained
A simple template for a daily site report that earns its keep — and the discipline to keep it filled in.
The daily site report is the project's memory. A good one takes 15 minutes to write and saves hours later.
What to include
Date, weather, workforce on site (with numbers per trade), plant on site, activities completed, problems and delays, materials received, visitors, photos, incidents.
Write it the same time every day
End of shift, before leaving site. Habit beats heroic catch-up sessions.
Tag risks early
Anything that might slow tomorrow goes in today's report with an owner.
