Softclue Academy is operated by East Midlands Combined County Authority, a limited company registered in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for personal information collected through the Platform and are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform.

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: name, email address, and authentication details provided when you sign up.
  • Profile information: display name, avatar, and optional details you choose to add.
  • Learning data: course enrolments, progress, quiz scores, assignments, and certificates earned.
  • Usage data: pages visited, time spent, device type, browser, and IP address (collected via cookies and analytics).
  • Communications: emails you send us and messages you post in community forums or discussions.
  • Payment information: handled securely by our third-party payment processors. We do not store full card details.

  • Track your progress, award certificates, and manage your account.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted third parties who help us operate the Platform, including: cloud hosting and database providers; Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. ("Stripe"), which processes payments, subscriptions, invoicing, and related fraud-prevention checks on our behalf; email delivery services (e.g. Resend); and analytics providers. When you make a purchase, your billing details are collected and processed by Stripe under their own privacy notice (stripe.com/privacy). All third parties are bound by confidentiality and data protection obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymise your data within 90 days, except where we are legally required to retain it (e.g., for tax or audit purposes).
