Confidence at work is mostly a series of small, repeated wins. Here are the habits we see in our most successful new starters.

Ask one good question a day

Write it down beforehand. Specific questions get specific answers and signal that you're paying attention.

Take notes in meetings

Three bullets per meeting — decisions, actions, open questions. Re-read tomorrow.

Default to clarification

"To make sure I've got this right…" is the most undervalued sentence in the office.

Ship in small increments

Send the first draft early. Feedback at 30% complete is much cheaper than feedback at 90%.

Track wins weekly

Friday afternoon, three lines: what I shipped, what I learned, what I'll do differently next week.
